How to perform bulk update for Horse(s)
You can now update key information for multiple horses at once, instead of editing each horse individually.
The following details can be updated in bulk:
Location & Status
Barn / Paddock
Horse Type (Breeding users only)
Horse Category (Breeding users only)
Weanlings (Breeding users only)
Click your avatar image in the top right-hand corner of the screen.
Select Bulk Data from the menu.
Bulk update Horse Location/Status
Change the Effective Date in the top left corner of the window if you are updating the location or status for a previous day.
Filter to display horses in specific location(s) or status(es).
Select Horses:
Tick individual horses in the far-left column, or
Select all horses, then optionally deselect any that should not be updated.
Specify Location and/or Status:
Enter the new Location and/or Status for the selected horses, or
Apply the same Location and/or Status to all selected horses by clicking the Location or Status column heading.
Click Save to apply your changes.
Bulk Update Barn/Paddock
Filter for the desired Horse Location and, if needed, Barn/Paddock, Status, or Horse Type.
Select one or multiple horses from the list.
Assign the New Barn/Paddock:
Enter the new Barn/Paddock for each specific horse, or
Click the New Barn/Paddock column header to assign the same value to all selected horses.
Click Save to apply your changes.

Broodmare Farms can update Horse Categories in bulk. This is ideal for updating:
Mares In Foal to Wet Mares (or other similar category names such as Mares with Foal), if they have foaled, at the end of the day's foalings;
Wet Mares to Dry Mares, at the end of the day's weaning

Users of Prism's breeding features, such as Broodmare Farms, can update Horse Types in bulk. This is ideal for updating:
Foals (at Foot) to Weanlings in bulk, at the end of the day's weaning;
Weanlings to Yearlings on August 1st each year;
Yearlings to Racehorses/Spellers or other categories you use, on August 1st each year.
Note: the age of each horse will automatically update on 1 August each year, but the Horse Type (if you use that field) will not.

This new process makes it much quicker to perform all of the following updates, but still flexible enough to cater for all different options for each farm.
Update Horse Type from Foal to Weanling;
Update Weanling Location, Status and Barn/Paddock; and
Update the Horse Category, Location, Status and barn/Paddock for each Mare of each of the weanlings.
Go to Utilities > Bulk Data Update.
Select Weaning.
Using the filters if necessary, select desired Foal(s) and then assign a new Horse Type (Weanling), and optionally a new Location, Status and Barn/Paddock (select from the list).
Ensure you select the Foals using the checkbox to the left of the Foal's name.
Click Next
The Mare's of the weanlings will appear in the next screen.
Follow the same process to update (if necessary) the Mare's Horse Category (e.g. Wet Mare), Location, Status and Barn/Paddock.
We have intentionally allowed users to select appropriate categories and statuses as each farm uses different categories and statuses.
Again, ensure you tick the check box next to each Mare you wish to update.
Then click either:
Save - to process the changes; or
Save & Add Expense - to process the changes and apply a relevant Procedure (which will record your selected Procedure on the applicable date and create expense charges to owners if one it set up in Finance Rules)
