How to bulk update Weaning

How to bulk update Weaning

This new process makes it much quicker to perform all of the following updates, but still flexible enough to cater for all different options for each farm.

  • Update Horse Type from Foal to Weanling;
  • Update Weanling Location, Status and Barn/Paddock; and
  • Update the Horse Category, Location, Status and barn/Paddock for each Mare of each of the weanlings.

Go to Utilities > Bulk Data Update.

Select Weaning.

Using the filters if necessary, select desired Foal(s) and then assign a new Horse Type (Weanling), and optionally a new LocationStatus and Barn/Paddock (select from the list).

Ensure you select the Foals using the checkbox to the left of the Foal's name.

Click Next

The Mare's of the weanlings will appear in the next screen.

Follow the same process to update (if necessary) the Mare's Horse Category (e.g. Wet Mare), LocationStatus and Barn/Paddock.

We have intentionally allowed users to select appropriate categories and statuses as each farm uses different categories and statuses.

Again, ensure you tick the check box next to each Mare you wish to update.

Then click either:

  • Save - to process the changes; or
  • Save & Add Expense - to process the changes and apply a relevant Procedure (which will record your selected Procedure on the applicable date and create expense charges to owners if one it set up in Finance Rules)
