How to Use the Horse Expenses Report

How to Use the Horse Expenses Report

You can see what each horse cost and what you charged for it in any period, split by expense type. Here's how.

To open the Horse Expenses report

  1. Go to your Finance Tab.
  2. Click Horse Expenses.
  3. The report opens on the Latest Billing Period, with the horses that charged the most at the top.

The cards at the top right show your Total Cost, Total Extra and Total Sale. The TOTAL row at the top of the table shows the total for each column and the number of horses.

Note: You need the Finance permission to see this tab. Click a horse's name to open its profile in a new tab.

To choose a period

  1. Click the date range at the top left of the report.
  2. Select a preset, such as Last Month, Current Financial Year or Last Year.
  3. To use your own dates, select Custom Date Range and pick a start and end date.

The report, cards and filter lists reload for the period you chose. Click Reset to go back to the Latest Billing Period.

Note: The financial year runs from 1 July to 30 June.

To sort the report

  1. Click the sort arrow next to any column name, such as Horse Name or Daily Charged.
  2. Click it again to switch between lowest first and highest first.

Note: Sorting covers every horse in the report, not only the rows on screen.

To filter by Location or Status

  1. Click the Filter by Location or Filter by Status box under the column name.
  2. Type to search, then select one or more values.
  3. Select N/A to show horses that have no location or status.
  4. To remove a value, open the filter and click it again.

The cards and the TOTAL row update to show only the horses you filtered.

Note: Location and Status are each horse's current values, not where it was during the period.

To export, download or print the report

  1. Choose the period, filters and sort you want.
  2. Click the More button (⋮) at the top right of the screen.
  3. Select Export to CSV, Export to PDF or Print.

The file includes every horse in the report, in the same order, with a TOTAL line. The PDF also shows the period and any Location or Status filter you used.

Note: In the CSV, amounts have no $ sign so you can total them in Excel. Credits stay as negative numbers.
