When a horse is registered or when a horse first races, new data is created at our race data providers RISA and Racing & Sport. When this data is sent to Prism, a new profile is created for the horse. These are referred to as "Registered Horses". You can tell if the horse profile is registered because it will display a number in its Horse Code field:
Unregistered horses will have the text "Unregistered" shown in the Horse Code field:
The registered horse profile is the one connected to the racing data so in almost all cases, you would want to merge the unregistered horse profile into the registered horse's profile.
For horses to merge, the following details must be identical in both the unregistered and registered horse profiles:
- Sire
- Dam
- Foal Date
If there is a mismatch in any of these details, please edit the unregistered horse's profile by clicking on the Edit Horse button on the unregistered horse's profile.
Edit the Sire, Dam or Foal Date so that they completely match the registered horse's information.
After you are done editing, click
Save .
After saving, the option to merge will be shown. Click on Merge to merge the profiles.
Before merging, please check that only one of the horse profiles have owners or location history records. If both profiles have owners and/or location data, please contact
support@prism.horse.
