Together with our payment partner Thoroughbred Payments, we have made it even easier for you to:
- invite your Owners to sign up for direct debit, and
- charge those Owners on the date payment is due.
Send Direct Debit Request
You can invite your owners to authorise you to debit their credit or debit card, or deduct amounts owing from their bank account, on the due date of each invoice.
There are two ways to email a Direct Debit invite to your Owner or Owners.
1. Email a Direct Debit Request/Invite to an individual owner by selecting the finance account of the Owner and clicking the Send Request button.
2. Email a Direct Debit Request to multiple owners by clicking [Send Request] via the Finance > DIRECT DEBIT tab.
Email the request to selected Owner(s), Owners by Horse or defined Owner Group or Groups.
Regardless of which method you choose to send the Direct Debit Request, you can review the default text in the email and modify it if necessary, before Sending.
The system will email the Owner(s) with a ‘Direct Debit Request’ link (URL) inserted where {debitlink} appears in the email window.
Back in the Owner Account window, the Direct Debit status is displayed as ‘Awaiting Confirmation'.
The Owner(s) will receive an email similar to this. The Owner(s) can click this link upon receiving the email.
Get The Direct Debit Request Link
If you don’t want to send a Direct Debit invitation via personal email, you can retrieve the unique direct debit URL for each owner. You can then send this URL with the owner so they can complete their online form.
1. Go to the owner's profile page and then navigate to the owner's finance account.
2. In the direct debit section, you can click Get Link to copy the unique URL for the owner and email the owner manually.
How an Owner Confirms their Direct Debit Authorisation
Upon clicking the link provided in your email, the DIRECT DEBIT REQUEST FORM is revealed. This form is unique to each owner.
The Owner inputs information and either their bank details or their credit card details. This information is then securely passed to Thoroughbred Payments for processing.
How to cancel an owner's Direct Debit authorisation
Upon direction of an Owner, you may cancel the Direct Debit arrangement.
Go to the Owner > ACCOUNT window and select Opt-Out.
